Autonomic Health Nurse & Co-Founder
He/his
Liam McManus, RN, is a Registered Nurse and Co-Founder of Rise Women’s Health, where he supports the clinic’s autonomic health services.
Liam has been a Registered Nurse since 2010 and has worked across medical-surgical nursing, emergency nursing, remote and outpost nursing in Northern Ontario, pediatric mental health, complex care, and healthcare education.
Throughout his career, including his work with vulnerable and underserved populations, Liam has seen how negative experiences within healthcare can shape a person’s relationship with the healthcare system. Feeling dismissed, judged, or unsafe can make it more difficult for patients to seek care again, sometimes resulting in delayed care and poorer health outcomes.
This experience was part of what motivated Liam to co-found Rise Women’s Health: a clinic built around thoughtful communication, patient education, collaboration, and care that recognizes the importance of feeling heard and respected.
At Rise, Liam brings this perspective to the autonomic health program, supporting patients with complex and often overlapping symptoms through education, practical symptom-management strategies, and care coordination.
Liam’s clinical role at Rise is focused specifically on autonomic health. He does not provide care within the clinic’s women’s health or gender-affirming care programs.
As Rise’s autonomic health services are available to adults of all genders, Liam also recognizes that patients may have individual preferences regarding the healthcare professionals involved in their care. Rise aims to provide care in a way that respects each patient’s comfort, preferences, and boundaries wherever possible.
